Kitchen Table Science box
The harder-to-find bits for all ten family experiments, in one box. You add the kitchen basics.
US$39 · C$52 per box
Packed to order in Calgary.
What's in the box
- Droppers, a magnifying glass and child-size safety goggles
- Cornstarch and effervescent tablets for oobleck and the lava lamp
- Latex-free balloons, straws and string for the balloon rocket
- A glass prism for the rainbow experiments
- Epsom salt for growing crystals
- Food colouring
Every family experiment works with what’s in a normal kitchen, plus a few things most homes don’t have lying around. This box is those few things, enough for one to three kids to do all ten experiments, with spares.
You’ll still need everyday basics such as cooking oil, vinegar, baking soda, eggs, paper and jars. Each lesson’s materials list says exactly what.
Lessons that use it
Build It, Launch It
Egg drops, paper planes and balloon rockets, done properly at home. Three engineering challenges where kids build, test, fix and explain the pushes and pulls behind what happened.
Earth and Sky at Home
Make a rainbow on the kitchen floor, grow crystals on a windowsill and build a cloud in a jar. Three classic home experiments that actually work, with the real science explained for grown-ups.
Kitchen Chemistry for Families
Four famous kitchen experiments, done properly: a homemade lava lamp, oobleck, a baking soda volcano and invisible ink. Each one starts with a real question, works with things from your cupboard, and leaves your child able to explain what happened.
