Privacy policy

Fieldbook Learning ("Fieldbook", "we") runs fieldbooklearning.com from Calgary, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We follow Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act and Canada's anti-spam law (CASL).
The short version: we collect as little as we can, we never collect information about students, we never sell anything, and you can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Information we collect

Students
Our lessons are taught by adults. Students never create accounts, and we never ask for or knowingly collect information about students. Please don't send us any. If you do by accident, we'll delete it.
We only email you if you've ticked the box to say yes, or if you're replying to us. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can also untick the box in your account or email us.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent personal information. We use a few service providers to run the site, and they process information only on our behalf:
- Cloudflare hosts the website and stores our database, and delivers our internal email alerts when you send a message.
- Google handles sign-in when you choose "Continue with Google". Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
- An email delivery service, once we start sending newsletters.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Accounts: until you delete your account, or automatically after two years without a sign-in.
- Email list: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of the unsubscribe so we don't email you again.
- Messages and requests: deleted automatically two years after they arrive.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your profile in your account.
- Delete your account yourself from the account page, at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing privacy@fieldbooklearning.com. We'll reply within 30 days.
- Change your cookie choices with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Security
The site uses HTTPS everywhere. Sign-in sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies, and we store only a scrambled (hashed) form of your session token. Access to our database is limited to the people who run Fieldbook.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell account holders by email.
