Photosynthesis

How green plants make their own food using light.

Plants take in carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil and, using energy from sunlight, turn them into sugar. They give off oxygen.

Example: A plant kept in a dark cupboard can't photosynthesize and becomes pale and weak.
