Grade 6 math · Fieldbook Learning

Name ______________________ Date __________

Across the x-axis, the x-value stays and the y-value changes sign. Across the y-axis, it is the reverse.

  1. Reflect the point (2, 3) across the y-axis. Write the new point.
  2. Reflect the point (1, 2) across the x-axis. Write the new point.
  3. Reflect the point (−1, 1) across the x-axis. Write the new point.
  4. Reflect the point (2, 2) across the x-axis. Write the new point.
  5. Reflect the point (7, −4) across the x-axis. Write the new point.
  6. Reflect the point (6, −5) across the y-axis. Write the new point.
  7. Reflect the point (2, −1) across the y-axis. Write the new point.
  8. Reflect the point (−4, 1) across the y-axis. Write the new point.
  9. The point (−2, −7) is reflected to (2, −7). Across which axis? Answer "x-axis", "y-axis", or "both axes".
  10. The point (−7, −2) is reflected to (7, −2). Across which axis? Answer "x-axis", "y-axis", or "both axes".
  11. The point (5, −9) is reflected to (−5, −9). Across which axis? Answer "x-axis", "y-axis", or "both axes".
  12. Reflect the point (−9, 8) across the x-axis. Write the new point.
  13. The point (15, 1) is reflected to (−15, 1). Across which axis? Answer "x-axis", "y-axis", or "both axes".
  14. The point (−1, −14) is reflected to (−1, 14). Across which axis? Answer "x-axis", "y-axis", or "both axes".
  15. Reflect the point (−3, 15) across the x-axis. Write the new point.
  16. Reflect the point (−3, −4) across the x-axis. Write the new point.
  17. Reflect the point (−2, −11) across the y-axis. Write the new point.
  18. Reflect the point (2, 17) across the y-axis. Write the new point.
  19. The point (−9, −13) is reflected to (9, −13). Across which axis? Answer "x-axis", "y-axis", or "both axes".
  20. Reflect the point (9, 27) across the x-axis. Write the new point.
