Safeguarding statement

Document FB-P04 · Version of October 22, 2026

ZalaStack Inc. is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child who uses a Fieldbook lesson. This statement explains how our products and our people are designed to keep children safe, for schools' safeguarding and child protection leads and for accreditation reviews.

Our products

  • No student accounts and no contact with students. Fieldbook is used by adults. Students never sign up, sign in, message, upload or appear anywhere on our site.
  • No collection of children's information or images. We never ask for student names, photographs or work. If any is sent to us by mistake, we delete it.
  • No chat, no social features, no advertising, no links to social media in student materials. Student sheets are printed pages.
  • Safe activities. Every lesson uses household materials and carries a safety list: warm tap water rather than kettles for students, goggles wherever anything could splash, and allergy notes (for example latex-free balloons). Each lesson is checked against our written safety standard before it is published.
  • Respectful content. Lessons are reviewed for age-appropriate language and images. Where a lesson draws on Indigenous knowledge, it is made with Indigenous educators and knowledge keepers and credited to them.

Our people

  • Anyone working for Fieldbook who visits a school, runs a workshop with students, or otherwise has contact with children holds a current police information check with vulnerable sector screening, renewed at least every three years.
  • In schools, our staff follow the school's own visitor, safeguarding and child protection procedures, are never left alone with a child, and wear visible identification.
  • Online staff sessions are for adults only.
  • Everyone working for Fieldbook reads this statement when they start and each year after.

Raising a concern

If you have any concern about a child's safety connected with Fieldbook, our materials or anyone working for us, email safeguarding@fieldbooklearning.com. The company director is our safeguarding lead, reads every such message, and replies within one business day. Where a child may be at risk, we report to the appropriate child protection authority or police, as the law requires, and cooperate fully with the school.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Review

We review this statement every year, and after any safeguarding incident or change in the law.
