The bald eagle eats fish, ducks and small mammals. It builds enormous nests at the tops of tall trees and reuses them year after year.
The bald eagle has sharp, curved claws called talons. These let it snatch fish out of the water. It is about 2 meters from wingtip to wingtip.
Baby bald eagles are called eaglets. Eaglets are covered in soft gray down and learn to fly at about three months old.
