Odd number

A whole number that leaves 1 left over when split into two equal groups.

Odd numbers end in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9. When you skip count by 2s starting from 1, you land on odd numbers.

Example: 15 is odd. Share 15 cookies between two people and each gets 7 with 1 left over.
