Name ______________________ Date __________

Subtract the starting coordinates from the new coordinates. Right and up are positive.

  1. The point (6, 0) is translated to (4, 1). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  2. The point (6, 4) is translated to (1, 12). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  3. The point (6, −1) is translated to (1, −9). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  4. The point (0, −6) is translated to (−7, −3). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  5. The point (0, −8) is translated to (−5, −1). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  6. The point (−1, 1) is translated to (−11, 8). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  7. The point (−1, −6) is translated to (3, −2). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  8. The point (7, 7) is translated to (6, 16). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  9. The point (5, 8) is translated to (1, 2). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  10. The point (1, −1) is translated to (9, −13). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  11. The point (5, 2) is translated to (8, −1). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  12. The point (0, −9) is translated to (−4, −4). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  13. The point (1, 1) is translated to (5, −1). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
  14. The point (4, 5) is translated to (−6, −1). Write the translation as (right, up), using a negative number for left or down.
