Grade 4: Properties and uses of Earth materials
Outcome Forces changing Earth's surface (rapid and slow), types of rocks, physical properties of rocks and scientific testing, identification of minerals, and weathering and soil formation. Investigation skill: plan investigations about the Earth's crust, changes in the Earth's surface, rocks, minerals and soils.
Outcome Solution criteria to reduce the impact of natural and human forces on the landscape (an indicator under Learning and Living Sustainably; the hillside protection lesson).
Outcome Identify responsible and/or sustainable interactions between humans and Earth; renewable versus non-renewable resources, sustainability and conservation.
