Your Skin

Your skin is part of your integumentary system. Its job is simple but important: it protects your body from germs, heat and cold.

When you get hot, tiny openings in your skin called pores let out sweat. As sweat dries, it carries heat away and cools you down.

Skin is the largest organ of the body. (Pore: a tiny opening in the skin.)

Washing and sunscreen help protect your skin.
