Full of trees places are hard to live in, yet both the Bengal tiger and the hedgehog manage it. They solve the same problem in different ways.
The Bengal tiger lives in the forests, grasslands and mangrove swamps of India and Bangladesh. It is up to 3 meters long, including its tail. It has orange fur with dark stripes, which helps it hide in tall grass and shadows while it stalks prey. It is a carnivore and eats deer, wild pigs and water buffalo.
The hedgehog, meanwhile, lives in gardens, hedges and woodland across the UK, Ireland and Europe. It is about 25 centimeters long. It has about 5,000 to 7,000 sharp spines, which protect it when it rolls into a tight ball. It is a carnivore and eats beetles, caterpillars and earthworms.
Both animals show that there is more than one way to survive in a full of trees place.
