Meet the Honeybee

The honeybee is a insect. It lives in hives in meadows, gardens and forests around the world. This place is wide and open.

The honeybee eats flower nectar and pollen. It does a waggle dance to tell other bees where to find flowers.

The honeybee has hairy legs with tiny baskets. These carry pollen back to the hive. It is about 1.5 centimeters long.

Baby honeybees are called larvae. Worker bees feed the larvae and keep them warm inside wax cells.
