England Key Stage 3 math curriculum
The Key Stage 3 math outcomes we teach, in the curriculum's own words, with the lessons and practice pages for each. Pick an outcome code for the full list of lessons and printables.
National curriculum in England: mathematics programmes of study, Key Stages 1–3. Every lesson comes with a printable teacher guide and student sheet.
Number
Outcome Order positive and negative integers, decimals and fractions, and use the number line as a model for ordering (integers in this unit).
Lessons: Below Zero: Integers in the Real World (How cold can ice get?, Which is further from sea level?) (partly)
Outcome Use the 4 operations applied to integers, decimals, proper and improper fractions and mixed numbers, all both positive and negative (addition and subtraction of integers in this unit).
Lessons: Below Zero: Integers in the Real World (How much did the temperature change?, Are we in the red?) (partly)
Probability
Outcome Record, describe and analyse the frequency of outcomes of simple probability experiments involving randomness, fairness, equally and unequally likely outcomes, using appropriate language and the 0-1 probability scale.
Lessons: Is It Fair? Chance and Probability (Is a six harder to roll?, Which bag would you pick from?, Can you design a fair game?)
Outcome Understand that the probabilities of all possible outcomes sum to 1.
Lessons: Is It Fair? Chance and Probability (Is a six harder to roll?, Which bag would you pick from?, Why does horse 7 always win?)
Outcome Generate theoretical sample spaces for single and combined events with equally likely, mutually exclusive outcomes and use these to calculate theoretical probabilities.
Lessons: Is It Fair? Chance and Probability (Why does horse 7 always win?, Can you design a fair game?)
