Virginia Science Standards of Learning (2018). Every lesson comes with a printable teacher guide and student sheet.
Matter
PS.2 Matter is composed of atoms and the kinetic molecular theory is used to predict and explain matter interactions (an early, informal start on a Physical Science course standard).
Lessons: Hot and Cold: Particles on the Move
PS.3 Matter has properties and is conserved in chemical and physical processes; substances can undergo physical and chemical changes that may result in a change of properties (the Physical Science course standard, matched here at an introductory level; balanced equations are not covered).
Lessons: Kitchen Chemistry for Families · Kitchen Chemistry (Is it a new substance?, Where does the mass go?, Can red cabbage tell acid from base?)
Practice: Kitchen Chemistry workbook
Force, Motion, and Energy
PS.8 Work, force, and motion are related: motion can be described using position and time, and motion is described by Newton's laws (the Physical Science course standard, matched here at an introductory level).
